Direct Line Buildings Insurance automatically provides buildings cover up to £1 million, (this cover is unlimited on a Direct Line Home Insurance Plud policy), for the cost of rebuilding your home and any outbuildings due to damage or loss caused by incidents such as fire, flood, storm, burst pipes or escape of water or oil. It covers the structure of your home plus roofs, walls, windows, as well as permanent fixtures such as kitchens, bathrooms and fitted wardrobes.

With Direct Line Contents Insurance, you will automatically receive up to £50,000 of contents cover, and this can be increased if necessary. Direct Line Contents Insurance provides cover on a new-for-old basis for contents in the home (excluding clothing), garage and outbuildings damaged or lost due to incidents such as fire, flood, smoke, lightning, theft or escape of water or oil. It covers items such as furniture, carpets, curtains, personal belongings, cash and garden items, loss of freezer contents and replacement locks following loss or theft of keys (limits vary by type of policy).
